Back To The Same Old Shit TNP LIVE EP85 : Monologue
The alternative media plays off of the contradictions of the mainstream media. Wherever the big networks and papers have gotten it wrong, outspoken voices have attempted to settle the argument by providing another look at the news of the day. This look sometimes exposes lies, bias, and even systematic corruption.
There is a value in being able to have more than one historical statement. For those of you that have looked back through history, you know that not every account of something that you heard of growing up was exactly true. In fact, those of you who kept studying probably found out that those new viewpoints and alternatives weren't exactly true either.
Since our start as a recorded podcast between two good friends, John Henry and I have been able to provide our analysis for what's going on in the news, not just reporting it. With that comes a responsibility that our audience understands where the objective facts end and the analysis part begins. Its hard to work into a conversation just between two people, if not many, that what you are saying is opinion and not fact. But that is what brings people like me to other shows like this, its the analysis that helps me understand what the facts are and helps me think about the topic being discussed so I can understand it better.
In that search for those kinds of voices, folks that not only understood the news but could add their perspective, The New Prisoners started having guests. My first interview with someone from the alternative media was author Donald Jeffries. It was not only an honor to meet Don and to have him contribute thoughts to an historical event like the Uvalde shooting and more but through my friend Don (who's latest book you should be looking up and ordering now called Masking The Truth) I met two of the best Contributors I could have asked for: Lisa Belanger and Chris Graves.
Lisa and Chris are great researchers in their own right. Their hard work is what helped propel our show into further analysis. Into a much more specific detail. By watching and listening to them I realized something about myself, how simple my viewpoints up to that time were. I may have gotten people like Lisa and Chris to agree with my points but they could take it further into explanation than I could because of their expertise. It was eye opening and humbling to see people being able to add so much more detail to the conversation. Look for both of them on Substack now for free!
Once our team was formed and with the help of my good friends John Henry, Lisa, and Chris we started looking to build a community of individuals that approached the news from outside of the simple contradictions. From there we found people like Peter Secosh, Tom Cooper, and Angry Tiger. All of which bring a whole new set of skills to the table. Peter is one hell of an artist and is an amazing researcher that even our wonderful Chris Graves looks up to. Tom is a man that's lived many lives and has stories to tell from all of them. Tiger can provide deep analysis on anything from Finance to Philosophy to old Westerns.
I want to help all of these great alternative voices reach more eyes and ears. I want to see people referencing them in conversations online, wearing their t-shirts, and eventually coming to community meet-ups to see what its like to talk to them, and all of us for that matter, in person.
It feels like its been a long journey for me, but things just got started. Maybe because so much has already happened. Because we have done nothing but build our name recognition and reputation from the ground up here as The New Prisoners, that will be the name of the channel where you can find all of most cutting edge voices and opinions in video and audio format but the name of this show going forward will be TNP LIVE!
Join the #TNPCREW and follow us to find not just this content but shows like Digging Chris Graves, Don't Take Our Word For It, Conspiring with Mr. Cooper, and now The Tiger's Den.
